An elderly patient has a reverse-obliquity intertrochanteric fracture. Which construct thinking matches the failure mode?

• A.Sliding hip screw alone is ideal because collapse is always beneficial
• B.Treat as a Garden IV femoral neck with screws
• C.Unstable pattern (reverse obliquity): nail or another construct that resists the expected collapse, not a side-plate that will medialize
• D.Non-op because extracapsular fractures never displace
