A trimalleolar fracture-dislocation is reduced. The ankle is massively swollen with fracture blisters. The next honest plan is:

• AORIF tonight because delay always worsens articular reduction
• BSpan if needed and delay definitive fixation until the envelope will tolerate it
• CClose the skin under tension over a one-third tubular plate
• DDischarge in a short boot with full weight bearing
